Welcome to London Network Radio

London Network Radio is a registered charity run entirely by unpaid volunteers.  It currently manages and runs the Whittington Hospital Radio station whose focus is to entertain listeners and broadcast to the patients and staff in and around the communities of the Whittington Hospital.

There are many ways to get involved with London Network Radio, be it helping out in Production to create jingles and edit shows, looking after our record Library, or even presenting, where you could end up hosting your own show.  We are interested in people who are friendly, have an interest in broadcasting as well as fundraising in the community!

But the vital qualification is a commitment to the patients in the wards of the Whittington Hospital.  Visiting the wards, saying hello to the patients and their families, and getting requests and dedications is the most important part of the volunteers’ role.  As Roy Gummer, one of the charities  trustees says "Ward visiting is the most important part of our work in providing a hospital radio service, it is the job of every volunteer to visit the wards at least once a week, mainly to find out who they are broadcasting to and what they would like to hear".
